Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd., the authorized Tata vehicle distributor in Nepal, has officially launched the much-anticipated Tata Nexon EV. The Tata Nexon EV was rumored to launch last year, but the plans were halted due to the contentious Taxation hike. Fortunately, Budget 2078/79 introduced more EV-friendly tax policies. With the renewed interest in electric vehicles in general, it was only a matter of time before Tata brought its electric SUV to Nepal.
In terms of pricing, the Tata Nexon EV starts at Rs. 35.99 Lakhs in Nepal. It will also be available in three different variants.
With that in mind, let's take a quick look at the Tata Nexon EV and its key specs.
Tata Nexon EV Specifications
Overview
Design
The design of the Tata Nexon EV is inspired by its older gasoline-powered sibling. It gets the same coupe-like design with a strong emphasis on aerodynamics.
It adheres to the IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy, also known as the Tri-Arrow design, as do the new Tata models. Furthermore, Tri-Arrow-inspired designs can be found almost anywhere. The Projector LED Headlamps with tri-arrow DRLs are visible on the front.
Piano black ORVMs with turn indicators, Shark Fin Antenna, Roof Rails, and other exterior elements contribute to the vehicle's overall appeal. The signature tri-arrow styling is also applied to the rear LED lamps. Because the Nexon EV is a battery-powered vehicle, blue accents can be found almost everywhere. Taking a look inside, Nexon EV maintains the tri-arrow design. Surprisingly, for the price, it manages to include a lot. It features a layered dual-tone finish with electric blue accents, leatherette seats, and a contemporary cabin feel. The Tata Nexon EV will only be available in Blue. Silver and White, on the other hand, are only available in premium variants.
Performance
The Tata Nexon EV is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor rated at 95kW (129PS) (PMSM). It has a maximum power of 129PS and a maximum torque of 245Nm. There are two driving modes available: Drive Mode and Sports Mode. The Nexon EV has a 30.2kWh High energy density Li-Ion battery and a range of 312 kilometers. A standard 15A outlet takes an average of 8.5 hours to fully charge. While it has a 3.3kW onboard AC charger, it also supports Fast Charging (0-80 percent in 60 minutes).

It will be interesting to see how the electric vehicle market reacts in the coming days. The Tata Nexon EV is now available for reservation and purchase. In addition, Tata Motors Nepal will provide an 8-year (or 160000Km) warranty on the battery and a 3-year (or 125000Km) warranty on the vehicle.
