The Punch micro-SUV from Tata Motors Nepal will be on display at the upcoming NADA Auto Show 2022. In the company's lineup, the Punch is listed below the Nexon subcompact SUV.
Design and Features
The H2X concept, presented by Tata Motors at the Auto Expo 2020, served as the inspiration for the Punch. The Punch has projector headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), signature LED Tail Lamps, and dual-tone roof options in black and white as standard exterior features. It also has R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels. The Punch is offered in 4 different versions on the Indian market: Pure, Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative.
The Tata Punch's interior is finished with a granite black dashboard, glacier grey accents, and premium fabric seats that feature the distinctive tri-arrow pattern. The Punch is well-equipped with a number of industry-first features, including a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch TFT display for the instrument cluster's semi-digital display, rain-sensing wipers, automatic air conditioning, push-button start/stop, etc. The micro-boot SUV's capacity is 366 liters.
Safety
The Punch is the most recent vehicle to receive a 5-star rating from Global NCAP. It has two airbags, ABS with EBD, corner safety control, and ISOFIX anchors for child seats. In order to prevent vehicle sway from the driving path, the Punch also receives a new feature called "Brake Sway Control," which recognizes the propensity for instability during abrupt braking before the ABS engages.
With its high ground clearance of 187 mm, 16-inch alloy wheels, 20.3-degree approach angle, and 27.6-degree departure angle, the Punch is actually a capable option in its segment. Additionally, according to Tata Motors, the Punch's 370mm water wading capability will improve its SUV DNA.
Engine & Transmission
A 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 86 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque powers the Tata Punch. It is available with a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic transmission. Although this engine already powers the Tiago, Tigor, and Altroz, it also has automatic engine start/stop functionality to improve fuel efficiency in the Punch. To accommodate different driving requirements, the Punch also has two engine drive modes (Eco and City).
As a result, the manual and automatic variants have claimed fuel economy ratings of 18.97 kpl and 18.82 kpl, respectively. Like some larger Tata SUVs, the Punch's AMT gearbox has traction modes. The Punch, according to Tata Motors, can reach speeds of 0-60 km/h in 6.5 seconds and 0–100 km/h in 16.5 seconds.
Rivals
The Suzuki Ignis, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and the upcoming Citroen C3 are competitors of the Tata Punch.
The 2022 NADA Auto Show will be held from August 23 to August 28, 2022. (Bhadra 7- Bhadra 12, 2079 B.S.). The 15th NADA Auto Show will feature commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, four-wheelers, garage and auto parts, and financial institutions.
